Shruthi, Anirudd, Daisy Bopanna
Kannada Film Lovers have witnessed few pleasant surprises in
the recent past. This film has been one of those! Probably the
biggest of the lot!!!
We
all were eagerly waiting to see Kamal Hasan's return to Kannada, and also
our beloved actor Ramesh venturing into film-direction...
These days,
Ramesh is well known for such Light-Comedy Romantic flicks... So, no
surprise when Ramesh picked this kind of a subject for his maiden
Directorial Venture...
The Story is
about the indifferences between couples, where the Husband has an affair
with another girl. The Husband's friend comes to the rescue of the
poor wife and help sort out her problem...
This
delicate storyline is ably supported by the comedy-based screenplay.
Comedy films are certainly not meant to be too closer to reality & are not based
on any logics. But still, the film should at least carry the audience
along, with a tight screenplay & appealing scenes...
If Ramesh
has to become a director, he has to first decide what style suits him (not
as an actor, but as a director). He is brilliant in handling comedy
roles as an actor, but as a director I feel he can handle emotions
more effectively, compared to comedy scenes. There are many emotional scenes which looked impressive
in the film... Most part of the film seem slightly offbeat, but the last 30
minutes along with the Climax has been handled pretty well.
The
artistes' brilliant performance has certainly nullified the mistakes of the
director. Ramesh himself has been impressive through out the film.
Kamal Hasan is simply superb in the Climax. His effort in dialogue
delivering is appreciable, and it has come out pretty well. I thought
he was not utilized by the director to his full effect.
Shruthi is
awesome in short appearances with outstanding Hubli-Accent (Wonder how she
used dubbing artistes in some of her films, when she can speak Kannada like
this!!!) Dhatthathreya, who is tailor-made for such Comedy films,
surprisingly doesn't have much work in this film. Anirudd chips in
with a cameo towards the end. Daisy Bopanna, the glamour element in
the film, has done justice to her role. But Urvashi carries away the
full accolades for her amazing expressions. Very surprisingly she has
delivered her own voice and modulated it perfectly for this kind of a
role...
The
dialogues are nicely penned throughout the film and the artistes have
delivered their dialogues wonderfully!!!
The film has
two good songs by Gurukiran. Kamal Hasan has sung one song to
everyone's surprise! Cameraman doesn't have much work in this kind of
a film. Editing & Rerecording tries to keep reminding us that it is a
comedy film... The film begins with some interesting special effects
(Cartoons and Callouts), but doesn't quite sustain the same charisma
thereafter...
Certainly
some kind of a letdown for over-expectation about Kamal's Return & Ramesh's
Direction... Interesting to see if the film can still pull the crowds,
just because of it's star attraction...
